Jim Place began his career as a financial advisor in 1983. As a partner of Evergreen Advisors, LLC, Jim brings 36 plus years of practical day to day experience to the table. He has been a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designee since 1986.
For the last 23 years Jim has been the host of Chattanooga’s most popular daily financial radio show, “Let’s Talk Money”, on WGOW 102.3 FM from 12:00 to 1:00PM. The last 10 have been co-hosted with his daughter and business partner, Jayme O’Donnell.
Jim Place completed two years of engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He graduated from Utah State in 1972. Jim is a former chairman of the board of St. Nicholas School. Jim is also a former college football coach at the University of Tennessee, UCLA and the University of Northern Illinois. Jim has been married for 43 years to wife, Theresa. Jayme O’Donnell, his only child, is also a partner with Evergreen Advisors.
Partner, CFP®, CPA
Michael has been a partner at Evergreen Advisors for over a decade. Michael is a financial planner, specializing in retirement, tax and estate planning for affluent individuals. Michael also chairs the firm's Investment Committee.
Mr. O'Donnell holds the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification, the recognized standard for excellence in personal financial planning. Michael also earned the CPA professional designation in 2007.
Michael's educational background includes an MBA in Personal Financial Planning and Risk Management from Georgia State University in 2006 as well as a Master of Accountancy in 2004 and a BS in Finance in 2002 from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Michael is an active member in the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the Estate Planning Council of Chattanooga, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga. He has also been a guest speaker for local professional organizations and groups.
Michael is an avid outdoor athlete, enjoying rock climbing, mountain biking and road biking. He is a member of the Southeastern Climbers Coalition (SCC), the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA), the Chattanooga chapter of the Southeast Off-Road Bicycle Organization (SORBA) and was formerly a USA Triathlon (USAT) athlete.
Jayme joined Evergreen Management, LLC. in August of 2006 and has been a partner since 2009. Jayme holds an MBA with a double major in Personal Financial Planning and Risk Management from Georgia State University. Jayme also holds a Master of Accounting degree with a concentration in Taxation and a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is a native Chattanoogan and a graduate of the Baylor School.
Jayme is co-host of Let's Talk Money on Chattanooga's WGOW 102.3 every weekday from 12:00 to 1:00.
Jayme is Evergreen’s Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for the everyday administration of the firm’s compliance program. Jayme’s other responsibilities include preparing comprehensive financial plans, personal financial statements, retirement projections, asset allocation analyses.
Jayme is active in the local community. She currently serves as Chairwomen for the Collegedale Tomorrow Foundation and Treasurer for the Missionary Ridge Neighborhood Association. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing and working on her historic home.

Barbara joined Evergreen Advisors (formally Evergreen Management) in 2005. Barbara handles client appointments and review scheduling. Barbara holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Office Administration from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Barbara has 30+ years experience in the financial services industry. A native of Franklin, TN, Barbara and her husband, Jim, have lived in Chattanooga for many years and enjoy antiques and traveling.
